One of the major benefits of Seaview House is
that there is so much to do nearby. This page is a guide to some of the best facilities, attractions, and
places. Please check out the links provided for plenty more information. When you get to Seaview House
the coffee table in the living room contains lots of useful leaflets about great places nearby. Click on
the map for a bigger image.
One of the most famous places in Cornwall is the Eden Project. From
Seaview it is just under an hour away and well worth a daytrip. It is an
amazing experience to be enjoyed by all the family, green-fingered or
not!!

You can get there a number of ways and it is quite easy to find.
If you can get to St. Austell (see bus and train time tables below) buses run regularly from there.
However if you prefer to find your own way there, you'll find it to the east of St. Austell,
sign-posted from the A30, A390, and A391. If you would like more detailed directions go to
Map Quest.
Follow these directions to Bodelva (the name of the Eden site). You should be able to find your way to the
main entrance from there!!

On the left of this page are links to maps of the area, and to bus and train timetables.
The bus stop is located directly outside the local shop. Buses that travel between Long Rock and Penzance are
2a, 2c, 17, 18, 32, to name a few, and the main bus station in Penzance is located directly next to the train
station. So getting around should be as easy as if you were at home!

There are plenty of other theme parks and such like places to visit nearby, see the links to find out more
about places such as Flambards, St. Michaels Mount, and Newquay Zoo. There is something for everyone to do,
whether the Sun is shining or not. There are also plenty of towns and villages that are interesting to visit
for their buildings, shops and the Celtic history. We recommend a visit to St. Ives for surfing, swimming,
shopping and a look around the abundance of craft shops and art galleries. St. Ives is just over 6 miles
away (10km), go to Map Quest for directions.
For more information on places to go in Penzance please visit the Penzance Website, it has full details of
all the possible recreational activities, including sports, entertainment, food and drink etc. There is a direct
link to the leisure section opposite, click on leisure in Penzance. Cornwall Calling has a very good guide to
the great surfing beaches and to fishing, as does Cornish Light. The local beach is also a fantastic place for
metal detecting and beachcombing and of course there is always the local countryside.
